Francesco Buresti

Since December 2024, Francesco Buresti has been CEO of Acea Acqua and Chairman of a.Quantum. Since September 2024 he was Director of the Water Business Unit of Acea.

From the end of 2017 to August 2024, he was Director of the BU Smart Infrastructures in A2A, which includes the Group's activities in electricity and gas distribution, integrated water cycle, district heating, energy efficiency, electric mobility, public lighting and smart city. In these years, the BU has focused on increasing investments in the most strategic sectors (electricity grids, water cycle, district heating), developing new businesses in charging infrastructures, and improving operational performance through an accelerated digitalization journey.

Previously, for 12 years and until 2017, he held various positions in purchasing in the ENEL Goup, both in Italy and abroad. From 2012 to 2017 he was Head of Group Global Procurement. One of his main challenges was digitalization, with the roll out of platforms in all countries and the introduction of the first Big Data solutions. Prior to that, between 2005 and 2012, he was Chief Procurement Officer - Networks and Sales in Italy for two years, and then CPO in Endesa for five years, with responsibility for Spain and Latin America.

Prior to this, he spent 15 years in consulting, first at Accenture and then at McKinsey, where he led projects to optimize operations for large Italian and European industrial groups, and growth projects for telecommunications companies.

In addition to his management experience, Francesco Buresti has had the opportunity to serve as a member of the Board of Directors for several Italian and foreign companies within the A2A Group and the Enel Group. From 2008 to 2017 he was a member of the Directorio of Endesa Chile, a subsidiary that at that time managed the conventional generation business of the Enel Group in Latin America.

Francesco Buresti holds a degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Bologna.
