Francesco Maria Rotundi has been CEO of Acea Infrastructure since January 2025 and Chairman of Simam and TWS since February 2025.
A civil engineer, Francesco Maria Rotundi has built his career in the construction of major infrastructure works (ports, airports, metros, railways, hospitals, dams), both in Italy and abroad.
From February 2021 to December 2024, he worked for Ghella S.p.A, a company specialized in the construction of large public works. He joined the Group as Chief Operating Officer Overseas, responsible for North America (2021-2023), and became Group Project Director in Italy in September 2023.
He spent most of his career in the Astaldi S.p.A Group, where he held various positions from 1999 to 2021. From 2019 to February 2021, he was General Manager Americas, Italy & Maghreb. Previously, he was General Manager for the Americas from 2016 to 2018 and Deputy General Manager for North America and the Caribbean from 2015 to 2016. From 2013 to 2015, he was Country Manager for Astaldi in Russia. From 2006 to 2012, he was first Project Manager and then General Manager of the ‘Metro C’ project company, which designed and built the third line of the Rome metro. From 1998 to 2005, he was Area Manager for several infrastructure projects in Rome.
He began his career in 1989 at the Dipenta Group, which was acquired by Astaldi in 1999. He was first site manager and project manager for the construction of the NATO base in Taranto (1989-1995), then in central management as project controller, and finally project manager for the extension of two hospitals (1995-1998).
Francesco Maria Rotundi holds a degree in hydraulic civil engineering from La Sapienza University in Rome.
