Expected annual production capacity of 11 GWh, corresponding to 4,000 households, will avoid the release to the environment of 4,400 tonnes of CO2
The growth of Acea Solar (wholly owned by Acea Produzione) in the photovoltaics sector continues with the entry into operation of the plant constructed in Canino (province of Viterbo), with an installed capacity of 6.4 MW.
The farm, entirely developed and built by Acea Solar, has an expected output of approximately 11 GWh/year, capable of supplying enough power to meet the annual requirement of around 4,000 households, avoiding the release to the environment of 4,400 tonnes of CO2 per year with respect to an equivalent production from fossil energy sources.
The plant is entitled to take advantage of a remuneration from Terna for its participation in the capacity market.
The farm covers an area of about 11 hectares and has been built using the most advanced installation techniques, which envisage the use of bifacial modules and a single axis tracking system, designed to guarantee an increase in the plant’s output, for the same surface area.
The project will contribute both towards Italy’s energy transition objectives, thanks to the production of renewable energy, and to the stabilisation of the grid.
