Since April 2025, Raffaele De Marco has held the position of Chief Executive Officer of Areti, following his tenure as General Manager. Before this role, he was Head of Infrastructure Operations and Services, overseeing the performance and efficiency of the company’s electrical grid.
Before joining the Acea Group, Mr. De Marco gained significant experience at Italgas, where he held a range of leadership roles across operational management, technical design, and strategic regional oversight. From 2019 to 2020, he was Head of the Naples Hub, with direct responsibility for 20 municipalities in the metropolitan area, managing over 500,000 customers and a team of 200 employees. In this position, he was particularly focused on planning and executing gas distribution initiatives, ensuring high standards of efficiency, safety, and sustainability.
Between 2017 and 2018, he was Head of the Piedmont Hub, overseeing operations across 215 municipalities in the Piedmont and Aosta Valley regions, serving 320,000 customers and managing a workforce of approximately 110 employees.
From 2016 to 2017, he led the technical design of bid proposals for strategic areas (including TO2 and Belluno), developing executive projects and conducting environmental, seismic, and fluid dynamic analyses for gas networks and related facilities.
From 2015 to 2016, he headed the Umbria Operations Center, with responsibility for 46 municipalities and 115,000 customers. From 2013 to 2015, he was in charge of the Molise Operations Center, managing 21 municipalities. In both roles, he ensured service continuity, emergency response readiness, and compliance with assigned budgets.
Between 2012 and 2013, he worked as Head of Monitoring and Operational Support at the Italgas headquarters in Naples, where he was responsible for technical and economic reporting for the Southern District. Earlier in his career, he gained operational technical experience as Plant Coordinator in Barletta (2010–2012) and as an Electro-Instrumental Technician in Turin (2008–2010), where he contributed to an innovation project for the remote reading of gas meters.
Mr. De Marco holds a degree in Mechatronic Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Turin and earned a Green Belt – Lean Six Sigma certification from the MIP Politecnico di Milano in 2018.
